Firefly was the next Whedon's popular show and it's likely that she created a buzz. Summer Glau played River Tam with great ease. Glau was an excellent actor. Tam has to take part in experiments conducted by the government that will help her become the greatest assassin. Tam was unable to regulate her emotions, as a result. In Firefly Glau was able to show off not just her acting skills but also her fighting skills. The fact that she was learning to be an assassin enabled Glau to make the most of her athletic abilities. Summer Glau has been a ballerina from the age of as a young girl. Her broken toe, however, that put an end to her dancing career. Firefly only lasted just one season, however the show garnered a large follower base. Fans of Whedon's were so enthusiastic that Whedon returned to the show two years later.
